The dangers of working at home
I was working at home today when this fearsome creature decided to attack me, or rather the strings on my pants.

A Thank You Note
Dear Apple,
Thank you for the heated pillow.

Thank you for the heated pillow.

The power adapter to my laptop gets warm and apparently Gunnar decided to use it as a heated pillow. I can't imagine it's comfortable, but he seems to like it.

Cats and books
Some of my favorite things are cats and books. Both cheer me up, help me relax, occupy a lot of my time. And really, they seems like they'd go together.
See, Gunnar's being cute and playing in the little book fort I built him my books. He even seems to approve of a book I picked up for $3 at a local book festival. Cats + books = awesome!

Water bowls
The pets like to surprise me by putting funny things in their water bowls.
It started out with hair elastics. Katie liked to steal my hair elastics. She thought they were the best thing ever. I read up on this online and apparently cats do this to their treasured possessions, things they want to keep safe.
Next up was shoelace—both of the cat's favorite thing to play with. Shoelace gets dunked a lot.
This morning what I found in the water bowl was downright funny: A frog! Ok, so it's a green ball shaped like a frog. Technically it's Mojo's but I'm sure it was one of the cat's that did it. It's just funny because frogs belong in water.

Letting the Cat out of the Bag

This post comes to you from the antics of my sister's brood of crazy cats.
I went over to visit my sister yesterday. I brought her some food over in one of those fancy shopping bags—the nice paper ones with the rope handles.
Apparently, I left it on the floor because the cats found it.
Kayleigh (pictured above) had hopped in the bag and was playing in it while Bear and Baby were playing with her. At some point, the play got too rough so Kayleigh went to jump out of the bag and run off. Only, she got stuck in the bag's handles and was running off with the bag. Bear and Baby thought that was too funny so they started chasing her (and the bag).
Alex had to go rescue poor Kayleigh, who had gotten the bag stuck around her plump waist. So Kayleigh was free. Only Alex didn't put the bag up. A few minutes later, Simon (Emily's shyest cat) came running across with room with....guess what? A Talbot's bag stuck around his waist. He was dragging it like a chariot. Alex freed him too and put the bag up on top of a table. He tucked the handles inside so that no more kitties would get stuck.
Bear, however, found the bag and promptly flopped down in it. He didn't get stuck, though.
