I decided to buy myself some gorgeous hot pink roses. Gunnar was thrilled. He thought they were so delicious. And in my glee to take the picture, he ended up chewing most of the leaves. (And throwing up later). I put the flowers up in a closed room that he tried to sneak into every time I opened the door. I can't believe he remembered where the flowers were, but he sure liked them.

Breakfast with Gunnar
I decided to make myself a nice breakfast on my week off. A croissant and some strawberries.
But then Gunnar invited himself to breakfast. Didn't know he liked strawberries, but apparently he does.
He also dipped his paw into the honey on the croissant! Crazy thing.

I can has popsicle?
Gunnar hangs out with me in the evenings. He "helps" me write. He also "helps" me with anything that I might be snacking on. He wants to sniff everything. He thinks he wants everything. Usually he doesn't, though. I'll pinch off some turkey for him. He won't touch it. He just wants to know what it smells like. I didn't actually think he'd lick the chocolate so we were safe.

I can has hamburger?
Matt's been on a hamburger making spree lately. Needless to say, the kids are quite happy about it.

Dirty trick?
Mojo didn't eat his breakfast, lunch or dinner yesterday. It was really weird. But as soon as Matt come home from 16-hour shift working the football game, Mojo hurriedly ate all the dinner still in his bowl.
Apparently Mojo missed Matt and wouldn't eat until he was home.
Matt had to work again today and again Mojo didn't even look at his food. So I took matters into my own hands.
I heated up a bowl of homemade soup for my lunch. And of course Mojo took up a spot right next to me, licking his chops and begging for food.
I moved Mojo's food bowl next to the table, and put some carrots from the soup in his bowl. Every few minutes I'd drop some more carrots into his food. He eagerly gobbled them up and pretty soon I had tricked Mojo into eating all of his lunch.

Dinner Dangers
I love our little brood, but some times it can be dangerous to have so many pets. Case in point: Dinner. Last night I made crockpot chicken. And all three love chicken.
It started out simply enough: Gunnar glaring at Matt to get some chicken. From there Gunnar decided that he would just eat off Matt's plate.
Then Mojo joined in the begging game. And Mojo is the champion of begging. Gunnar will just jump in a grab your food. He'll get on your plate or bat it from you. Mojo, however, has mastered the SAD EYES. Look at that sad intent face.
Not to be outdone, even shy Katie decided she had to get in on the action. So here we have Mojo with his best sad eyes, Gunnar and Katie's climbed up in Matt's lap. All three kids, all begging for chicken. Poor Matt, I don't think he got to eat that much chicken.

Disappearing Act
I went home for lunch and made myself a chicken sandwich. The patty is bigger than the bun so I cut the edges off and fed them to Mojo. That was my first mistake.
Mojo apparently liked it and stuck around to beg, which is pretty typical.
I ate half the sandwich and then went to the other room to check on something. I came back and Mojo was licking the carpet. I went over to see what he was doing, if he was eating his kibble over there or what. I didn't find anything suspicious, so I told him he was a silly dog and went back to my lunch.
Or what was left of it. On my plate was a hamburger bun and tomatoes. No chicken.
And suddenly, I knew why Mojo, looking very proud of himself, was licking the carpet and where my missing chicken patty had gone.
Mojo had reached up onto the bar-height table, and somehow managed to steal just the chicken.
He can reach the tabletop IF he really tries. But the plate wasn't at the edge, so I would have really liked to see him pull that off. He then brought the chicken to his treat spot on the carpet, which explains the licking I witness when I came back to the room less than 2 minutes later. How did he pull it off? Esepcially in that short of time?
Oh well. I guess I know better than to leave chicken unattended while a crafty hungry dog is lurking.

Dinner for Mojo
I made a nice dinner last night: blackened tuna steaks with salsa, sauteed spinach and dirty rice.
When I turned away to use the computer, Mojo went straight for it. Here he is caught in the act via our Web cam.

I forgot that he likes both tuna and spinach.
