Doggie Magnetism

Mojo's new friend

If Mojo has a super power (besides conning me out of chicken hot dogs), it's doggie magnetism.

If we go on a walk and there's a stray, a dog escaped its leash or a dog sneaking out of its house within a mile radius, they find us.

I have found so many dogs! I've had to call the tags on the owners or walk up to random houses, knock on doors and return dogs to teenagers.

Today I was walking Mojo and we picked up a brindle pitt. She didn't seem to be anybody's so I let her take a walk with us, partly just to keep an eye on her and keep her out of the road. She seemed to be a nice dog and she kept initiating play with Mojo.

She was a very slobbery dog. Mojo and I both ended up soaked after meeting her.

Outtake photo. And yes, I totally laid down on my neighbors yard to get these shots.
PS> Turns out she's the new neighbor's dog. So we might be seeing more of her.

Mojo and Lexi go to the Park

Mojo and my niece Lexi went to the park today.

Can you spot Mojo in this picture? Hint: he really likes going up stairs.
My sister said she never seen a dog play on playground equipment before. Mojo's done this since he was a puppy. He thinks it's a doggie play place.

After some coaxing, he said he'd share the play place with Lexi. She had to be licked first though.

Up next: rolling in the clover.
On to play play number two.

Lexi on the slide. Mojo doesn't do slides.

High five from mom!
Off to see the goats and the chicken. There were baby chickens out and kids were cuddling the chickens. They asked Mojo to stay back. He does think chicken is delicious. But I'm pretty sure he thinks chicken comes from the grocery store.
Lexi playing.

Mojo was quite happy after his trip to the park.

For the love of socks

Mojo has the best smile. But what makes Mojo smile?

Socks.

He loves socks, the stinkier the better. He plays with them every day. Our house is a playground full of socks Mojo has procured.

He's not above nosing through the dirty clothes basket to get socks or if he's really feisty he'll try to pull them off your feet. We even had a basket of mismatched socks in the hall (I didn't have time to match them). Every night it seemed like there were more socks in the bedroom and I couldn't figure out where he was getting them (I wasn't giving them to him), but I finally figured out that every night he was grabbing one sock out of the basket as he passed it in the hallway. Sneaky!

The sock in the picture, I actually watched him take out of a ball. He'll tug on the, grasp them between his paws and pull with his mouth and the ball comes undone. Then he just plays with the socks. He runs around, shakes the sock, wants you to play tugs when the sock and when all the craziness is done he'll just sit down and cherish his stinky sock.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween from Mojo.

He's sporting skulls and cross bones for the occasion. It's the closest I can get to him wearing clothes. (He's too big for pet costumes and any pet clothes I've found. His chest is too deep even for a XXL. He does fit in my tank tops though.)

Smiling Practice

Mojo has the most infectious smile, which I think is an accomplishment for a dog. He's just smiling in this video. Smiling, smiling smiling. If this doesn't instantly cheer you up, I don't know what will.

Just Chillin'

To thwart the crowd of ardent admirers at Touch-A-Touch, Mojo sought the shelter of my car.

Look at that smile. So handsome, lil guy.

Touch-a-Truck

Matt worked the local Touch-A-Truck festival today. (It's where firefighters, police officers, garbage men and more bring their big trucks for kids to ooh and ahh over.) He was exhibiting the police motorcycles. I decided to bring Mojo because I thought it would be good socialization for him, seeing the crowds, the kids, smelling the trucks, etc.

Mojo was SO happy to see his dad.

Kisses!

Then I made Matt pose for a picture. The first one is better of matt, the second is better of Mojo.
